Surah 102
سورة التكاثر - Al-Takasur – The excess / Over indulgence
Again one
more surah that proves that the book Quran is all about Mankind and how one should
behave in order to live a peaceful life (Muslim).
The first word
“Alha” of this surah is a very important word, as it helps us to understand the essence of this
topic. The root word of this is Laam-H-Waw, ل ه و -. The basic
meaning diverted so as to forget it due to seeking pleasure, delight, sports, play, occupied, solicitous unable to see the right course, he took
him as slave, enslave, captivated. Man is born to serve - his habits, and habits are his addiction, which gradually become his god. Due to this addiction man becomes selfish and he cannot see beyond serving his addictions. If the addiction is a good one, he is bound to succeed, otherwise he is a burden to himself and the society.
The next word is At-Takasur which means to multiply more, acquire more, in excess to your needs. Man is a by product of needs, wants and desires. According to this surah when we are not in control of our urge for more wants, it turns into an addiction and we are compelled to serve it. And if we don't serve it, we become soul-less as though we are dead. The respected author is warning us by describing such a condition of getting buried (Al-Maqbira) while still breathing. So as to avoid such condition turning into a reality in our life, we must avoid the habit of indulging in excess or hoarding. This habit of hoarding ultimately becomes our master or god and rules over us. We then start worshiping or adoring and giving more importance to materialistic gains rather become possessive about it. By entertaining this habit of addiction we actually miss out on the real enjoyment of life, as we are completely in servitude to our addiction of acquiring more and more. Due to this bad practice, the resources go dry and the balance of circulation is disturbed, thus the people in general feel the pinch / shortage (Al-Jaheem) because of hoarding by certain section of the society.

Being a workaholic
is a good trait that too up to a certain a limit, but being a shopaholic or unnecessarily storing of things would
lead you to your demise and downfall. And if you only know to acquire things and don't know how to enjoy or how to circulate/share it then its a big misfortune. Circulation is life, the existence of life depends on circulation. Circulation is key to our existence. We all are under a cycle. If we don't circulate that means we are dead or we can face the heat or fire of constriction . الْجَحِيمَ also means a burning situation or hour of crisis or deficiency.
