MENTAL CLEANSING -
There is no ritual wazu (ablution) and ritual prayers (namaz) mentioned in the book Quran, but rather a description is given on how or when / why to stay connected to the process of connection (salat). The entire book Quran explains us to understand our own self (nafs), our own system of consciousness (allah), our own governing and sustenance system (rabb) and our own script (al-kitab). We have to understand the entire context and the parables of the book Quran in these contexts only.
Essence / interpretation of verse 5:6
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ إِذَا قُمْتُمْ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ
O those who believe / trust, when you hold on to the process of connection [الصَّلاَةِ],
1 - فَاغْسِلُواْ وُجُوهَكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ إِلَى الْمَرَافِقِ
Then (after salat) prepare your intentions, reasons (وُجُوهَكُمْ) clear/cleanse (غْسِلُواْ) and your inner resources / power (أَيْدِيَكُمْ ) till they become your rafique [الْمَرَافِقِ] colleagues in real sense. (get immersed in your aim / occupation / intention)
Cleaning of intentions, reason is part of salat - It is within salat
2 - وَامْسَحُواْ بِرُؤُوسِكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ إِلَى الْكَعْبَينِ
And do mental cleaning with your topmost intellect (بِرُؤُوسِكُمْ) and by your own self / without depending on anyone (أَرْجُلَكُمْ) till it reaches zenith (الْكَعْبَينِ).
3 - وَإِن كُنْتُمْ جُنُبًا فَاطَّهَّرُو
But if ever your side is broken / weak from inside (جُنُبًا), then cleanse yourself first.
4 - وَإِن كُنتُم مَّرْضَى
And if you are suffering from lack of intellectual deficiency (مَّرْضَى)
5 - أَوْ عَلَى سَفَرٍ
OR on mental journey to seek knowledge,
6 - أَوْ جَاءَ أَحَدٌ مِّنكُم مِّنَ الْغَائِطِ
Or any from you approached / advanced / emerged from the lower conditions / fell in pit
7 - أَوْ لاَمَسْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ
Or you are touched / trapped in some kind of addiction / urge / desire (النِّسَاءَ).
8. فَلَمْ تَجِدُواْ مَاءً
And you don’t even find clarity of thoughts (مَاءً) - 8:11
9 - فَتَيَمَّمُواْ صَعِيدًا طَيِّبًا
Then open up / aim / see that your objectives are high / pure / good,
10 -فَامْسَحُواْ بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَأَيْدِيكُم مِّنْهُ
Carry out the efforts of intense mental cleaning with your sincere focus and your inner strength / power / resources
11 - مَا يُرِيدُ اللّهُ لِيَجْعَلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنْ حَرَجٍ
The system of consciousness does not intend upon you difficulty.
12 - وَلَـكِن يُرِيدُ لِيُطَهِّرَكُمْ وَلِيُتِمَّ نِعْمَتَهُ عَلَيْكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
But intends to cleanse you and fulfill / perfect his gifts upon you, so you may continuously use them gratefully acknowledging their designed purpose.
